A Conversation with Acting President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan

On Wednesday, April 14, 2010 Center for Global Development hosted a conversation with The Acting President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan, who offered his perspective on several of the key issues that his country faces, including electoral reform, consolidation of the gains of the Niger Delta Amnesty, the fight against corruption, and improvement to the power and energy sectors. Nancy Birdsall, President, Center for Global Development introduced the Acting President and CGD Vice President for Corporate Affairs and Senior Fellow Todd Moss moderated a discussion that followed and took questions from the floor.

An Evening with John Dau: The Future of Southern Sudan

CCD Board Chairman Ambassador Robert Hunter and former Assistant Secretary of State for Africa Ambassador Herman Cohen each provided introductory remarks, followed by a short presentation from John Dau, one of the “Lost Boys of Sudan” and founder of the Southern Sudan Institute. An evening discussion took place after the presentation and finally refreshments were served.
